Fly Fishing Gallegos & Penitente Rivers
Located in the vast and wind-swept plains of Southern Patagonia, Rincón de los Morros Lodge offers exclusive access to some of the best sea-run brown trout fishing in the world. Nestled on a remote stretch of the Río Gallegos, and just minutes from the productive Río Penitente, this lodge-based program is designed for serious anglers in search of big, powerful sea trout in a truly wild setting.
After a full day on the water, enjoy classic Patagonian hospitality — home-cooked meals, good wine, and unforgettable sunsets over the open plains.
Rincón de los Morros combines world-class sea trout fishing with the experience of staying in a true Patagonian ranch.
What we offer:
- Private Access to Prime Waters: More than 30 kilometers of private beats on the Río Gallegos and access to the Penitente, a smaller, more technical tributary known for holding large fish.
Trophy Sea Trout: Fish average 10–15 lbs, with regular catches in the 15–20 lb range each season. Fresh, bright chrome sea trout enter the system from December through April.
Fishing Techniques: Swinging flies with two-handed rods or precision casting with single-hand rods, depending on river conditions and angler preference.
Experienced Local Guides: Knowledgeable, bilingual guides help you read the water, choose the right flies, and get the perfect swing to tempt these elusive migratory fish.
