The fly fishing season in Patagonia runs from November through May. Each part of the season offers unique conditions and opportunities for anglers chasing wild trout and sea-trout in some of the most scenic and remote waters on Earth.

North Patagonia

Limay River Trophy Wild Trout

Limay River, North Patagonia. Home to trophy migratory browns and rainbows. Each season opening and fall, migratory browns and rainbows move form the lake to the river, offering fly anglers a chance to hook fish over 10 pounds in cristal clear waters.

Montain Lakes

In the remote southern lakes of Nahuel Huapi National Park – including Mascardi, Fonck, Hess, Roca and Guillelmo – anglers find wild trout, stunning scenery, and absolute solitude. Drifting over cristal-clear waters, you’ll cast streamers and dries to brown and rainbow trout cruising shorelines and drop-offs.

Fly Fishing Collon Cura River

The Collón Cura in one of the Northern Patagonia’s most consistent and productive fly fishing rivers. Flowing through wide valleys and steppe landscapes, it’s famous for it’s strong population of wild rainbow and brown trout.

Collon Cura lodge-based program offers the ideal combination of confort, wilderness, and access to the best stretches of the Collon Cura river.

Rio Gallegos Lodge

The rio Gallegos, in the heart of Shouthern Patagonia, is world-renowned for it’s runs of sea-run brown trout, powerful fish that migrate from the Atlantic Ocean into the river to spawn. These trout grow big – many over 15 pounds – and test the most experienced anglers.

The season runs from January to April, with the best fishing during the summer months when fresh sea-run browns enter the system and move upstream.
